Five Drawbacks to Burying Your Pet

Think again before burying your pet. Five good reasons not to.

WHY A RETERNITI PET CREMATION STONE MAY BE A BETTER OPTION

Burying your pet may be a cathartic form of closure, but there are a number of drawbacks to be aware of:

  • Cats and dogs can be large animals. They’re normally heavier than you think and the hole has to be deep. Many will find the burial process unpleasant and distressing.

  • You may not have space in your garden or yard, or may not have a garden at all.

  • Some won’t like the thought of their loved one decomposing nearby. And if the body isn’t buried deep enough other animals may be attracted to the site.

  • In some cases you may have to declare that an animal (or person’s ashes) is buried in your yard, obviously affecting the resale of your property.

  • If you sell your house, your loved one doesn’t come with you.
